The Future
I've been calling around to businesses in the area in which I live as well as to Chamber's of Commerces to pitch a particular marketing project that I've been working on. On a few occasions I've talked with young people about the idea and when I discuss the economy and what it means to their future I find I'm more than a little bit dismayed with the fact that they don't have much opinion what the projected increase in the national debt will be in few years. There is also no concern about the fact that when all of us aging baby boomers get older and need more health care that they'll be on the hook for all of it.
I get the sense now that they've just tuned it all out. That it's...all good as they say.
What a difference in contrasting this with the outspokeness of 60's and 70's generations.
I would be very angry if I were them.
Heck, I'm really angry for what they're doing to my kids.
They've not properly assessed the ability for our kids to pay this money back.
I think rather that it's known full well that this is not likely to happen even.
If we couldn't pay back 3 trillion in the boom years what is the likelyhood we'll pay back 10 trillion given the uncertainty of the future and a more competitive marketplace?
